MEDICINE POUCHES

Medicine Pouches are "wombs" to protect that which is sacred to you, i.e. crystals, stones, feathers, cedar, sage, prayers, pictures of those you love, etc.

A medicine pouch serves as a treasure chest for the heart and soul. Usually womb-shaped, these pouches are made of elkskin or deerskin. The beads are used because the word "bead" is derived from an ancient word that means "prayer". The bead fringe on these pouches is like rain which brings forth life for all creation.

These pouches may be hung on the wall for display and/or be worn on a belt.
